We all know there are a bunch of niches and pockets of interests on YouTube. Many of them we have yet to discover. One many of us may know very well is the world of interior design. This is where we can binge "clean with me" videos and watch complete home transformations as a pastime.
In the middle of this year one of my friends Aquaisia, who also goes by Quay, has dived into to this field of creators. I have always noticed her passion of interior design, manly because it surpassed my capabilities. I personally cannot keep up with her constant shopping sprees at TJ Maxx and splurges on paint at Home Depot. She recently moved into her own apartment and has been working hard to decorate her new canvas.
Before we get more into her content, let me give you some more background. Quay is a recent graduate of American University. She graduated with her bachelors degree in Business in Entertainment and hopes to have a career in music and design. Most importantly Aquaisia is from the Bronx. Her upbringing and neighborhood influences her design style and overall personality. You can catch her organizing events for her family, hosting guests like me, and of course planning her next design for her home.
On September 18th, 2019, Quay uploaded her first Youtube video. In this video she details how to make a headboard from scratch. When Quay said she was into interior design, I never thought it would get this serious. She was really out here with tools creating furniture from scratch.
Since then she has posted two more videos. These video ideas are typically found on any interior design channel. Many of the most popular design channels are ran by white creators. Hopefully, Quay will be the next Black interior influencer to watch. It is always great to watch people you identify with.
I hope you enjoyed learning about Aquaisia and be sure to follow her instagram @quaydecorates! Stay tuned for more creators.
